A Paycheque Being A Mom?
How much am I am worth? It can be calculated here if you are interested in finding out! The website salary.com will calculate how much you should be paid for being a mom. It says I could be making anywhere from $68,ooo.oo to $181,000.00 in US funds! Could my cheque please be retroactive to when I gave birth to my first born?

Callum
As I'm putting the boys to bed this evening I notice Callum has a knee pad on his arm over his pajama top. I ask him "Callum, why are you wearing a knee pad on your arm in your bed?" Carter shouts over from his bed "because he's nuts Mom!" So I say "Callum, you're nuts! Your brother says you're nuts and I say you're nuts!" He looks at me in a very serious manner and says "nuts is the name for a penis, Mom. Don't call me that!"

Forever and Ever
Chris and I met in grade 12 photography class, February 1993. He had just turned 18 and I was 17. We didn't know each other at the beginning of the semester but we had a few mutual friends. I later discovered he was also in my first period math class but I never paid attention in that class so I hadn't noticed! We were chosen to do a photography assignment together on March 6th and that is where it all began.... We went to Fergus as he suggested, taking photos of old buildings and ended the day watching the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin (a classic!) It wasn't really a typical first date but I'll never forget it. I just knew he was the one from day one.
The Dirty Buzz Lightyear
Our doctors office has a kids corner with lots of interesting toys to keep the children occupied while they wait. My children have known since day 1 they are not supposed to play in there but Carter has always been drawn to the Buzz Lightyear toy. It has been there since before my boys were even ever a thought. When he was 3 all he wanted from Santa was a Buzz Lightyear just like it and he got it. I thought that would be the end of him ever even considering to play with the one in the doctors office. It has been referred to as "The Dirty Buzz" for as long as I can remember. Imagine how germ infested those toys must be. Only sick children are playing with them! But nope! Every time we visit it is the first thing he looks for. Here he is at 7 years old at the doctors office once again holding Buzz Lightyear even though his is at home, forgotten about and broken. But it never fails, the first thing he says when we get there is "Mom, pleeease can I play with the Dirty Buzz Lightyear?" As the saying goes, "the dirtiest toys are the best loved."

The Return Of Lilith Fair 2010!!
Lilith Fair may be returning in 2010!! My sister, Chris & I packed up my little white '91 Honda Civic in the summer of 1998 and drove to Detroit Michigan to the Pine Knob Music Theatre to see some of the worlds best female performers. Getting there was a bit of a headache... Chris forgot his ID and so customs had to search my car and then in the middle of nowhere my muffler started to drag under my car. We pulled over and pulled it right off because we just wanted to get there but the noise was almost unbearable. Good thing we had Indigo Girls, Sheryl Crow, Sinead and Sarah songs to keep our minds and ears from bursting! What a wonderful day it was and I can hardly wait to hear more about the return of this amazing festival.

Four Grandmothers who are GREAT!
My boys are fortunate to have FOUR Great-Grandmothers. They chose what they would like to be called when Carter was born and 3 of them liked the sound of "GG" which obviously stands for Great-Grandmother. (Granny will always be Granny to everyone) We have GG Jamieson, Granny, GG Oakman and GG MacGregor. I have vague memories of the great-grandparents I had. Those who were living when I was born lived in Scotland and I only saw them when they were here to visit once every few years. Although Chris & I lead a very busy life we are sure to do our best to have them as involved in their lives as much as possible. Already, at the young ages of 7 and 4, Carter & Callum's minds are rich with stories from these elderly (but wise) ladies who are a huge part of the people we have all become. How lucky our boys are to have four GREAT grandmothers!
